Designed for Demanding Digging and Excavation Applications

When operators require reliable ground penetration and consistent digging performance, the Haugen Tooth Bucket for Skid Steer Loaders is engineered for excavation, land clearing, and material handling applications. Designed for contractors, excavation crews, and property maintenance professionals, this tooth bucket supports effective digging in compacted soil and challenging ground conditions.

Engineered with Series 23 weld-on teeth, replaceable tips, Grade 50 reinforced side plates, and a 3/8" heavy-duty skid steer quick-attach plate, this bucket is designed to provide improved penetration compared to smooth-edge buckets, especially when dealing with compacted soil, rocky terrain, clay, gravel, frozen ground, and demolition debris. It is the ideal low-maintenance, high-strength solution for aggressive material excavation and high-impact digging.

This tooth bucket is a perfect match for a wide range of skid steer loaders—including Bobcat, CAT, Case, John Deere, New Holland, ASV, Kubota, and other compatible machines—making it a versatile attachment for construction, landscaping, agriculture, land clearing, and material handling applications.

Engineered for Superior Digging Efficiency

The Series 23 teeth provide increased breakout force to support effective penetration in compacted materials, allowing the bucket to penetrate surfaces faster and more efficiently than smooth-edge buckets. Each tooth comes with replaceable tips, reducing long-term maintenance costs and increasing the attachment’s life cycle.

A 3/4" × 6" beveled cutting edge reinforces the bucket’s leading edge, giving operators the ability to cut through dense materials with minimal resistance. Combined with GR 50 side plates and stiffeners, the bucket maintains its structural integrity even under extreme loads and continuous jobsite impact.

Whether you're ripping out compacted earth, digging trenches, loading materials, or breaking through challenging ground conditions, this bucket supports consistent digging performance across a range of excavation tasks.

Built to Withstand Harsh Jobsite Conditions

Haugen builds this attachment with a heavy emphasis on durability. The 3/8” thick skid-steer quick attach plate ensures secure mounting and confidence during high-force operations. Reinforced side plates and heavy-duty stiffeners help reduce wear and structural stress during repeated jobsite use.

Contractors rely on this bucket designed to support long-term use in demanding digging applications. It is a cost-effective upgrade for any skid steer operator looking to support efficient completion of demanding digging tasks.

FAQs

What is a tooth bucket used for on a skid steer?

A skid steer tooth bucket is used for digging, trenching, ground penetration, and breaking through compacted soil, clay, gravel, and rocky terrain. Its built-in digging teeth allow operators to bite into tough surfaces that standard smooth-edge buckets cannot penetrate.

How long do bucket teeth last?

Bucket teeth typically last 100 to 1,000+ operating hours, depending on the ground conditions and jobsite demands. In soft soil and light digging, the teeth can last several hundred hours. In rocky, abrasive, or compacted terrain, wear occurs faster, and teeth may need replacement sooner. The Haugen Tooth Bucket uses Series 23 replaceable tips, allowing you to swap worn tips quickly and maintain peak digging performance without replacing the entire tooth assembly.

How do you install a bucket tooth?

Installing a bucket tooth is a simple process and can usually be done in a few minutes. Most skid steer bucket teeth—such as Series 23 weld-on teeth with replaceable tips—use a pin-and-lock system or retainer. Here’s the typical installation process:

  1. Remove the old tooth

Use a hammer or punch to drive out the retaining pin. Slide the worn tooth off the shank or adapter.

  2. Clean the adapter or tooth shank

Remove dirt, rust, and debris to ensure a tight, secure fit for the new tooth.

  3. Position the new tooth

Slide the replacement tooth onto the adapter, aligning the pin holes of both parts.

  4. Insert the retaining pin

Push the pin through the aligned holes. Some teeth use a roll pin, while others use a pin-and-lock wedge.

  5. Secure the lock

Tap the pin or lock in place with a hammer until it is fully seated. This prevents movement during digging.

  6. Check for a tight fit

Tug the tooth firmly to ensure it is locked and secure before returning the bucket to work.

For weld-on style teeth, the adapter is welded, but the replaceable tips install without welding, making maintenance quick and cost-effective.
