At its core, the Tree Shear uses a 5" × 12" industrial-grade hydraulic cylinder, delivering up to 29 tons of cutting force at 2,500 psi. That power, combined with a 1-inch thick T1 steel body and hardened cutting blade, allows the shear to tackle heavy saplings, medium-sized trees, and thick brush — far beyond the capability of conventional grapples or buckets. 

To match different workflow needs, Haugen offers the Tree Shear in multiple configuration options: Fixed-blade, Manual-rotation blade, and Hydraulic-rotation blade. The rotating versions add flexibility: after cutting, you can reposition the blade easily to trim, load, or orient felled trees and limbs — improving safety and productivity. 

The rugged construction and powder-coat finish ensure long-term durability and resistance against wear, weather, and repeated rough use. At 870–890 lbs depending on model, it’s designed to fit skid steer loaders using standard universal quick-attach mounts (or compatible mounts), making installation straightforward and broadly compatible across common skid steer brands.
