The Forax XD48 is part of the “Extreme Duty” lineup, built for serious land clearing and forestry tasks. It’s suited for 10 to 14 ton excavators, making it a mid-to-heavy mulcher for demanding environments.
With a 48-inch cutting width and 28 rotatable cutters, it’s capable of processing dense brush, saplings, and thick undergrowth in fewer passes. The structural enhancements — notably the reinforced body and drum — provide greater resistance to wear and shock loads.
Because it demands 30-40 GPM at up to 5,000 psi, it is intended to work with machines having strong hydraulic systems. It’s not a lightweight accessory — at 1,360 lbs (excluding lugging hardware), it’s a heavy attachment, and the optional lugging configuration adds further weight and flexibility in mounting.
Typical use cases include:
-
Clearing trees, thick brush, and overgrowth in forestry or large property operations

-
Right-of-way maintenance, logging roads, pipeline or powerline clearing

-
Land development, site prep, and reclaiming overgrown areas where power and durability are essential
