Star Industries 175-72 Heavy Duty Skid Steer Grapple Bucket
Authorized Star Industries Dealer
Ensuring quality backed by full manufacturer warranty & support.
The Star Industries 175-72 Heavy Duty Skid Steer Grapple Bucket steps up from the 66" model with a wider 72" working width and an 18 cuft capacity, delivering greater coverage and throughput for operators tackling larger, higher-volume job sites. Combining the digging and scooping capability of a full-size skid steer bucket with independently controlled grapple arms that open an extra-wide 38½", the 175-72 is engineered to securely grip, lift, and transport the most bulky and hard-to-handle materials — from brush and logs to scrap metal, concrete rubble, and mixed demolition debris — with outstanding control and confidence across every terrain.
The 175-72 is built on the same proven heavy-duty platform as the rest of the 175 series, featuring a ¾" plate bucket bottom, 3/16" plate bucket back, ½" plate sides, and ½" grapple thickness throughout. The ¾" × 6" cutting edge is punched for an optional bolt-on blade, giving operators the ability to upgrade for more aggressive digging when required. End plates on both sides contain loose materials during transport, hydraulic hose lines are zip-tied to a heavy spring to prevent pinching during grapple operation, and built-in fitting covers protect hydraulic connections from field impact damage — practical engineering details that translate to less downtime and lower maintenance costs over the life of the attachment.
At 865 lbs empty weight and equipped with HD welded hydraulic cylinders (2" × 10" × 1½"), hydraulic hoses, and flat-faced couplers included, the 175-72 is ready to go to work immediately across construction, landscaping, forestry, agriculture, waste management, and demolition environments. The wider 72" opening covers more ground per pass than the 66" model, making it the right choice when site conditions and machine capacity allow for a wider tool. Proudly made or assembled in the USA by Star Industries, a trusted manufacturer of professional-grade equipment attachments since 1982.
Features & Benefits
- 72" Wide High-Coverage Grapple Bucket — Wider than the 66" model; covers more ground per pass and handles larger loads for faster job completion on bigger sites.
- 18 CuFt Bucket Capacity — Increased volume over the 66" model for more material per cycle, reducing total dump runs and improving overall productivity.
- Extra-Wide 38½" Grapple Opening — Opens wider than standard grapple designs to accommodate large, oversized, and irregularly shaped loads in a single confident grab.
- Independently Controlled Grapple Arms — Each arm adjusts independently for precise, secure gripping of uneven or awkwardly shaped loads across rough and uneven terrain.
- End Plates for Loose Material Containment — Side end plates prevent materials from spilling out during transport, maintaining cleaner job sites and more efficient load management.
- ¾" Plate Bucket Bottom — Heavy-gauge bottom plate delivers exceptional wear resistance and structural strength under intensive digging and loading conditions.
- 3/16" Plate Bucket Back — Solid back panel construction maintains bucket integrity and rigidity under heavy, repeated loading cycles.
- ½" Plate Steel Sides — Thick side panels provide long-term durability and impact resistance from rocks, concrete, and heavy demolition debris.
- ½" Bottom Wear Protection Ribs — Integrated ribs along the bucket bottom protect against ground abrasion and extend the service life of the bucket floor.
- ¾" × 6" Cutting Edge — Heavy-duty cutting edge for efficient ground-level digging; punched for optional bolt-on blade to enhance cutting and digging performance.
- ½" Grapple Thickness — Full half-inch grapple arm steel ensures reliable clamping strength and resistance to bending under the heaviest loads.
- HD Welded Hydraulic Cylinders (2" × 10" × 1½") — Heavy-duty welded cylinders provide consistent, powerful grip force for secure, controlled handling of large and irregular materials.
- Hydraulic Hoses & Flat-Faced Couplers Included — Ready for immediate field connection; flat-faced couplers minimise fluid spillage and contamination during hook-up and removal.
- Built-In Fitting Protection Covers — Integrated covers shield hydraulic fittings from impact and debris, reducing maintenance requirements and extending service life.
- Hose Lines Zip-Tied to Heavy Spring — Prevents hydraulic lines from being pinched during grapple arm operation, protecting hoses and reducing the risk of field failures.
- Proudly Made/Assembled in the USA — Backed by Star Industries, a trusted American manufacturer since 1982.
